Ghana actress and singer Kisa Gbekle is speaking out in defense of her image and on modern concepts of indecent dressing. In an interview with Showbiz, when asked about her reaction to people’s bashing of the flattering pictures she takes, Gbekle said,
Yes, I love to show off myself because, admit it, I have a nice figure…God has blessed me with certain features that I am not ashamed to show in public so what do I do? I have to flaunt them.”
Gbekle is popular for taking pictures that shows plenty of skin but she is not perturbed by the negative backlash. Even the possibility of being stereotyped as a ‘slut’ does not disturb the musician’s confidence in herself and her photos.
Some Ghanaians are hypocrites, we watch pornography and all kinds of things…We have people who take shots in bikini at beauty pageants, are they also not half naked? Yet, we say nothing about it. ” said Gbekle.
When asked about her prospect to be a wife and a mother with such an image in society, Gbekle responds,
Of course, it is every lady’s dream to settle down as a wife but I do not think my pictures will have anything to do with a man coming for me or not. I want a man who will want me for who I am. The fact that I do things like that does not mean I lack qualities of a good wife or mother.”
Kisa claims that she gets her motivation music stars such as Rihanna and Keri Hilson. She enjoys mimicking some of their poses in her flicks and she is proud to keep strutting, half naked or not.
