The Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu said that a South African woman earlier quarantined at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos over Ebola has tested negative to the disease.
The South African national, who showed symptoms of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) was earlier quarantined in Lagos.
Mr. Onyebuchi’s Special Assistant on Media, Dan Nwomeh disclosed this via his Twitter (@DanNwomeh).
“BREAKING: The South African woman has tested negative for #Ebola. She is still being investigated for other disease but Ebola is negative”, he wrote late Friday night.
The woman identified as Folswe Elizabeth Maria was arrested at the Lagos International Airport after showing what health officials termed “likely signs” of the dreaded Ebola Virus Disease.
