President Obama and First Lady Michelle participated in a service project alongside students and volunteers at a school in Washington, D.C., yesterday, packing backpacks for children in homeless shelters. But, one student was, uh, less than thrilled to breathe the same air as our nation’s leader. Why? She was expecting the “special guest” to be someone different: Queen B, to be exact.
“I thought it was going to be Beyoncé,” Madison admitted, not masking her disappointment in front of the Prez. “I really wanted it to be. But then I realized it was going to be you.”
“Malia and Sasha would feel the same way,” Obama replied.
Double zing (plus, bonus points for self-deprecation).
However, all was forgiven when the two bonded over shared interests. When Madison said that her favorite subjects are math and lunch, Obama said that the latter is one of his favorite topics too.
